Frequently asked questions
Quick, honest answers about how PolicyMatch works.
Is PolicyMatch free?
Yes. Comparing plans and talking to our licensed advisor is completely free. If you buy
a policy, the insurer pays the advisor a standard IRDAI-set commission — your premium is the same
whether you buy through us or directly.
Do you sell my data?
Never. We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. Your enquiry is shared only with our
licensed advisor so they can help you. See our Privacy Policy, and you can
delete your data anytime.
Do I need to create an account or log in?
No. Just search and, when ready, leave your number. No password, no app required.
Are the premiums shown my final price?
They're indicative estimates to help you compare. Your exact premium depends on the
insurer's underwriting and is confirmed by the advisor before you buy.
I have a pre-existing condition like diabetes or BP. Can I still get cover?
Usually yes. Most plans cover pre-existing conditions after a waiting period, and some
accept them sooner. We show which plans suit your condition and how long the wait is. The advisor
confirms acceptance with the insurer.
What is a waiting period?
A time after buying during which certain conditions aren't covered yet. There's a short
initial wait for most things, and longer waits for pre-existing diseases and some specific illnesses.
See our glossary for plain-language definitions.
Will my treatment be cashless?
If you're treated at a hospital in your insurer's network, yes — the insurer settles
directly with the hospital. We show how many cashless hospitals are in your district for each insurer.
Which insurers do you compare?
We focus on a curated set of trustworthy insurers rather than listing everything — see
Insurers we compare. We'd rather recommend fewer plans that actually pay
claims than overwhelm you with options.
How do you decide which plans to show?
By fixed, transparent rules using insurers' official documents and IRDAI data — not by
whichever plan pays us most. See How we compare.
What if my claim is rejected later?
Our advisor helps you at claim time and guides any dispute. See
Claim assistance and Grievance redressal.
